LONDON COMES TO KL
My British quartet, featuring Huw Warren on oiano, Dudley Phillips on bass and Nic France on drums flies into Malaysia this week to perform with me at the USCI Contemporary Music Festival on the 26th. This will be the only appearance in Asia for this band that was formed in the mid 80s in London and has been dormant for most of the past 2 decades.
It's a long way to travel for one set so it really is something you should witness if you're in the area!
GROOVE WORKS RIDES ON!
My jazz workshop program in Singapore, Groove Works is well into it's third session for 2011. This is the musical forum for some of the most rapid development in Singapore's young jazz scene and has already helped nurture some significant young musicians.
Catch us in performance every Tuesday at Night & Day, 139 Selegie Road from 9.30pm.
If you're interested in being part of the course you can check the Groove Works page for more info or join the Facebook group.
Come ride the new wave of jazz in Singapore! grooveworks@greglyons.net.
