| This 9-piece is the latest chapter in Greg's development as a writer, somewhere between the small and large group thing. With the ensemble textures but with the quartet's freedom.... Based around a format of 3 woodwind, 3 brass and 3 rhythm, it features a wide variety of textural nuances and incorporates the multi-instrumental abilities of it's members. It treads a fine balance of dense orchestrated passages with open improvisational sections. The writing is Lyons' own, purpose written for this ensemble, utilising more of his beloved odd-meters and incorporating more Asian elements into the mix than with previous outings. The ensemble was recorded earlier this year and a CD should be available soon. |

| The quintet - as featured on the CD "Island to Island" - is an all-star affair, featuring an international line-up of top musical personalities currently active in the Asian region. The music is all lyons-penned, with hard-grooving latin jazz undercurrents but with contemporary improvisation at it's core giving it enormous flexibility and spontaneity. |

| This quartet has become one of the top contemporary Ensembles active in the region of South East Asia. The awareness of each member to the overall group sound and the stunning interplay have put them in a class of their own. Whether doing originals, or re-arranged standards or even contemporary world-music songs, the unifying factor is a strong sense of groove, melodic directness and above all, fun. |

| The Lyons/ Savolainen Quartet |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Another little supergroup, this time introducing the awesome talents of the Finnish pianist, Jarmo Savolainen. A versatile composer and player, Jarmo has recorded a substantial portfolio of small to large groups enlivened by a resource of musicians from Helsinki to New York including such luminaries as Dave Liebman, Wallace Roney, Tim Hagens, Rick Margitza, Billy Hart and Ron Mclure. Jarmo's dark brooding style of composition contrasts beautifully with the effusive Lyons style to result in a delicately balanced musical Yin-Yang. The group is rounded out by the substantial playing talents of Malaysian super-percussionist Lewis Pragasam and the American bassist Christy Smith, whose rock-solid bass-lines provide the perfect counterfoil to Pragasam's incessant polyrhythms. |

| Biophonics |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It's party time. This is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. The Biophonics are a collection of top session musicians who have the occasional need to just FUNK OUT and get those dance grooves thumping. Featuring acid-jazz favourites as well as 70's jazz-funk re-visits from the likes of Incognito, Brand New Heavies, Tower of Power, The Brecker Brothers, The Average White band, Groove Collective, The Meters and Earth, Wind and Fire, Biophonics are the perfect band to bring any festival crowd to it's feet. Their first performances in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore provoked some frenzied responses as they offer an entirely new experience and extremely broad accessibity, featuring awesome vocal talents, punchy horn arrangements and blistering soloists. Guaranteed to set the standard for combined sensual and intellectual stimulation. |
